Christmas 1984

It's Christmas again
And I don't know when
I had so much fun in preparing.
For Daniel makes three
In our new family
And trimming the tree will be daring.

Though outside is bitter
The tree trims will glitter
Attracting my Daniel to touch.
The bets I will take
On how many will break--
My hope for the tree isn't much!

The gifts will be wrapped
When Daniel is napped
And outside it is very cold.
When he's opened each gift
His attention will shift
And he'll play with his toys that are old.
