Time Bomb

or

Waiting for Labor To Begin

A time bomb within me is ticking,
The countdown of which I can't see.
Is it one day or two?
And what can I do
'Bout this time bomb that's ticking in me?

The countdown began months ago
And slowly the time has gone past.
What was months now is days,
As the past turns to haze,
Any minute, the lot could be cast.

But questions I have while I'm waiting,
Like, how will I know when it's here?
Will it come suddenly
Like a dam that's set free?
Or like waves, will it come upon me?
