Who Do You See In Me?

Who Do You See in Me?

When daily life around me flows,
When joy and laughter within grows,
Or pain and suffering comes with blows,
Who do you see in me?

When I am locked out of the house,
Or in the kitchen see a mouse
Or lose some buttons on a blouse
Who do you see in me?

When at my job I must work late
Or I get stood up for a date
Or I get charged a higher rate,
Who do you see in me?

When beastly hot I cut the grass,
My favorite team fumbles the pass,
I'm clumsy and I break a glass,
Who do you see in me?

When grocery lines are very long,
When all my plans seem to go wrong,
Do I burst forth in joyful song?
Who do you see in me?

When with my spouse I disagree,
When all the dishes are dirty,
The cat gets stuck up in a tree,
Who do you see in me?

The baby keeps me up all night,
His wheezing gives me quite a fright,
He cries if I turn off the light,
Who do you see in me?

The neighbor mows his grass at eight,
For my appointment I am late,
The dog escaped through open gate,
Who do you see in me?

The traffic's backed up to the ramp,
My toddler broke my favorite lamp,
The dryer's broke, the clothes are damp,
Who do you see in me?

The neighbor comes with juicy news,
My in-laws do not share my views,
And when I have postpartum blues,
Who do you see in me?

They don't have my size at the store,
Some salesmen knock upon my door,
I'm making typos by the score,
Who do you see in me?

What do I watch on the T.V.?
What kind of music is for me?
What do I wear that others see?
Who do you see in me?

My brother gets a larger gift,
My boss says, "You get second shift,"
I lose the oars and start to drift,
Who do you see in me?

My teen's boyfriend has sloppy clothes,
I'm always wiping baby's nose,
I get the car but then it snows,
Who do you see in me?

When I am sick and feel so weak,
When other doctors I must seek,
When aches and fevers will not peak,
Who do you see in me?

When I am lying at death's door,
When earthly things matter no more,
When every breath seems like a chore,
Who do you see in me?

Can Christ be seen in all I do?
When life is full or when it's through,
When I feel good or I feel blue,
Can Christ be seen in me?

For all that matters is the Lord.
His Word is a two-edged sword.
Into my life his love is poured,
Can Christ be seen in me?

For Christ did die upon the tree,
So from my sins I'd be set free,
And I'd grow more and more holy.
Can Christ be seen in me?

God, let me linger in your Book
And learn about each step you took.
So change my life and let them look!
Let Christ be seen in me!

And may my life be filled with prayer
And may my life with others share
That through my life they'll know you're there
Let Christ be seen in me!

Let me show forth your only Son!
Let my life show the victory won!
And someday may you say, "Well done!"
Let Christ be seen in me!
