My Grace is Sufficient |

I know you have your druthers, Your yearnings and your aches But I will tell you once again God doesn’t make mistakes. You wonder as you view your life Just how it got this way. Why did this pain become so hard, Why won’t it go away? Your dreams and hopes now shattered, All pieces at your feet. Your heart is raw and bleeding, Your spirit feels defeat. You don’t feel that you can go on, You scream, “Oh God, why me?” You feel you’re being punished, A future you can’t see. Yet through it all God’s Word is true, His promises the same. He’s working now to change your life, With godliness his aim. With testings and with trials He’s working on your heart. For with a broken spirit He finally can start. For resting in his tender arms Brings peace within our soul, Trusting His eternal plan will Someday make us whole. He gives us grace by moments, Sufficient it will be. Even when the way is rough He has a plan, you see. Our trials are not punitive, For our God is not cruel. His plan is turning clods of mud Into a precious jewel. A life that shines in beauty Of peace and faith and love As we trust in the Lord our God And look to heaven above. This life is short as so is pain, It’s hard to grasp, you see It’s very short when we compare It to eternity. So open up your heart to God And let Him work in you. Then He will fill you up with fruit Before your life is through. Then when you reach your heavenly home Your song will them be thus: “It will be worth it all When we see Jesus.” But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22, 23 |
