Who Do You See In Me?

The Answering Machine

Merry, Merry, quite contrary,
Why aren't you at home?
You're never there when e'er I call
For in your car you roam.

Why aren't you at my beck and call
Whenever I do yelp?
Must I listen for the beep
Before I holler, HELP!

There's not enough to go around
So Merry, please divide
Yourself into more pieces.
So from me you cannot hide.

Stay at your phone in case I call
And then to do by bidding.
But just in case you're seeing red,
I really am just kidding.

"Tis nothing personal, please note,
Not a you am I mad.
It's just I got this crummy cold
That make me feel so bad.

And if I wanna to get well
At home I need to stay.
So put up with my silly rhyme
I'm just grumpy today.

P.S. I hate answering machines.
