Some things just don't
matter–
Like what you had for lunch.
Whether KFC or Chick-fil-A,
On chicken you did munch.
Your preference on this or that,
The options that you choose
Are soon forgotten as time flies
No matter, win or lose.
The flowers you choose for your garden
The color you paint your home,
A metal roof or shingles,
Pink insulation or foam.
These things aren't all that important,
In 100 years they'll all be gone.
You make your best decisions,
You compare each pro and con.
But other choices shape your life
With lasting consequences
If you're right or if you're wrong,
With choices your future commences.
But, what if you're wrong?
You plant your garden early ‘cause
You don't think it will frost.
But if you're wrong you end up with
Your time and money lost.
Cycling without a helmet,
Just to feel the wind,
A roaming dog, a slippery path
And more than knees are skinned.*
Cracked skull and brain injury,
No protection for your head,
Could send you to a nursing home
Or worse, you could be dead.
The light turns yellow, you push the gas
For a red light you don't want to wait.
You're sure you can get through this time,
And then you won't be late.Maybe you are lucky
And get to work on time.
You can avoid oncoming cars,
You can stop on a dime.
But, what if you're wrong?
The screeching tires, then breaking glass,
The impact of the crash.
The searing pain, the air bag goes off,
It's over in a flash.
If you survive the accident
You'll find there's pain galore
In mending all your broken bones,
Your head trauma and more.
There's so many times you need to be right,
When it's terrible to be wrong.
It's not based on popularity,
And going with the throng.
Truth is truth, it changes not,
No matter how you feel.
And all lies are always lies,
Nothing can make them real.
What about your future and
What happens when you die?
How do you prepare for it,
Before the end is nigh?
Do you believe you're good enough?
Are the scales in your favor?
Do you believe life is meaningless
And you don't need a Savior?
Do you believe it doesn't matter,
You'll live life as you please,
And not concern yourself with any
Questions such as these?
But, what if you're wrong?
Truth is what God says is true,
The Bible is His book
Where He reveals His holy truth
And that's where you must look.
The most important question
That you today must face--
When you die, will you find
The wrath of God, or grace?
To die without God's saving grace
Through Jesus Christ his Son
Will find eternal wrath of God
When your life is done.
There are no do-overs,
No chance to change your end.
No time to plead your case,
No way to ascend.
You don't know when death will come,
In minutes, days, or years.
You must decide based on the truth!
Don't cover up your ears!
If you're right, it matters not,
Enjoy the life you've got.
But if you're wrong, eternal wrath,
A lake of fire is your lot.
So, choose today the way of truth--
That Jesus came to save.
He died for you upon the cross,
And rose up from the grave.
Repent from all the sin you've done,
In Jesus Christ believe.
Give your life to Jesus,
Salvation you'll receive.
A heavenly home, eternal life,
Awaits God's children dear.
I pray that I will see you there
And that these words you'll hear.

but my husband WAS
wearing a helmet. It was cracked, his head was not. |
