Cutie Preemie Booties

Finished size: about 2" long

Supplies needed:
Sportweight yarn, I used Red Heart Soft Baby 3-ply
18" narrow ribbon satin (1/16" or 1/8")
Size G crochet hook

Directons:
Round 1: Ch 2. Work 7 sc in 2nd chain from hook. Sl st in first sc. (7 sts)

Round 2: ch 1. Work 2 sc in each sc around. Sl st in first sc. (14 sts)

Ch 12. Sl st in 4th sc (from round 2) from starting chain.

Round 3: Ch 2. Work 1 hdc around circle to beginning of ch 12, work 1 hdc in each chain, sl st to 1st hdc. (24 sts)

Round 4: ch 2. 1 hdc in each hdc around. Sl st in 1st hdc. (24 sts)

Round 5: ch 2. [Hdc next 2 sts tog]* around. (12 sts)

Round 6: ch 1 [sc next 2 sts tog]** around (6 sts)

Fasten off.

Cuff:

Round 1: Attach yarn in loop at back of heel. Ch 2. Hdc around. (in each loop of earlier chain sts and in each st around.) Sl st in 1st hdc.

Round 2: Ch 2. Hdc in each st around. Sl st in 1st hdc.

Work backwards crochet around top: Ch 1. (*Working toward the right, insert hook in next hdc, hook over thread and draw up a loop, yo and through both loops on hook; repeat from * around.)

Join with sl st to first hdc.

Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Weave 9" of 1/8" ribbon through stitches of the first row of the cuff. Tie in front.
